    Bridging colour - Holga

    Is this working?
I took a different image of a figure with a pink sun umbrella crossing the bridge but sadly it didn't come out.

Any comments gratefuly received as always,
    Many thanks

I think it works, though the lamp post seems to sharp and in-focus compared to the rest, and of course, askew. Maybe boost the color satuaration here a little? You guys are makign me think I need to try a Holga again.

    Re: Bridging colour - Holga

Thanks for the comments guys, as mentioned, I am just getting started with the Holga but I am finding it to be a very refreshing approach to my photography, the results should, I would hope, get much better.

    Thanks again

You know Heriot, the only thing that bugs me about this photograph is the light post.
    It seems out of place.
Otherwise, I'd think this were a good effort.
Looking at the few Holga photographs you have posted here, I'd say we have a lot in common, in that we tend to look for brightly colored or unusual subjects!
Keep at it! You said it well, this is a "refreshing approach".
    You are getting it!

This photo looks like an optical illusion! What's going on? The softness of the image adds to the photo somehow...

Many of the Holga images I've seen have the appearance of a scene from a dream - as does this one...

Question Re: Bridging colour - Holga

I am curious. A Holga is a 110 film "toy" camera. My first camera when I was 6 or 7 years old was a Kodak 110 that looked like this. (See picture) Does this kind of camera fall into the same category as a Holga because of it's film size? Or does a Holga produce a unique style unto itself which is what makes it desirable to use over others that accept such film?

I am very intrigued by this image as it is the first Holga shot I have seen here that reminds me of the same color tones of images I took when I was a child. Except, of course, you have composition as an extreme advantage on my old pics. I like the way you have used the bridge to trap the building in the background and re-shape its roof.
    Just wonderin',

    Re: Bridging colour - Holga

    Hi,

The Holga camera is a medium format toy camera. First produced in Hong Kong in 1982, its name may be a corruption of the Cantonese phrase "ho gwong"—"very bright."

There are a number of variations / hacks that lead to varied types of results, not least of all, the Woca, using a glass lens as opposed to the standard plastic one.

Interesting that you relate the image colours to those achieved during childhood experiments with photography, I have much the same feeling, there is a dreamlike innocence to this photography that I find very appealing and refreshing.

Am attaching an image of the Holga that I used for this shot.

    Thanks for your comments
