    Brick Wall

For want of a better title. Took this in Georgetown. It was a business next to the C & O Canal in the shopping district. C & C welcome.

I just noticed your signature, what happened to the old name? I like the image but maybe cropping a little tighter on the sides may help? I don't know, just something about the protruding parts of the wall not running all the way up the image just bugs me. But I do love the bottom of the frame, it looks very 3 dimensional.

Brent....I was having difficulty logging in with the old name, so I switched. This one's more current, and suits me at present. I didn't know whether to leave those partitions in the shot or crop 'em out. Perhaps another crop is in order.

Great shot! I like the line seperating the two windows and how run down the whole thing is.
If you can take it again I would include a little more on the bottom and less on the top and also cut out the side walls. That's my best suggestion

    Re: Brick Wall

Thank you Shooter. Definately a considerable help. I was debating that very thing myself.

So much potential, ol Georgetown. I like the center area of the image the best. To me it's lit nicely, bt the far left is too dark and the far right's big rock looks out of place. I would crop from just right of center off, then crop out some of the left side but leave that nice looking window frame. Sharpen it up a bit too. The greenery looks nice, the image's density being just enough to make it look like the floor of a tropical rain forest. .. GB

    Re: Brick Wall

I like both of the cropped versions though I tend to prefer the first, but that's personal taste.

I think the cropped version works better because the viewer immediatly knows what the subject is and the peripherals set it out nicely.
In the first version, my eyes just jumped around from thing to thing and never knew what to focus on.

I like the original version. Maybe crop left and right slightly. I agree with Brent it had a 3D look. You might see how it looks if you add a saturation layer and desaturate the brick work a little and make the grass pop some more. I like the fan. Well spotted.
