    Bread!

Two loaves of bread, side-by-side, freshly made by my wife a few weeks ago. Perhaps a better f/stop would have helped to bring out more detail . . .

maybe if you stepped back a bit? IMO, it's too close to make out what it is, I'm not sure even a different aperture could've clarified it more.

It's getting me hungry though There's nothing better than the smell of freshly baked bread!

uhm, i dont know what to say, do you really want to put this in critique? uhm, okay - my critique is that its a silly picture of the top of a loaf. ;)

and yes a better f-stop wouldve helped, your exif info sais you shot at 5.6, you couldve shot at f11 and had the whole thing in the picture.

remember, if it doesnt have a subject or a backdrop - then its probably a texture - and texture shots need some consistancy or pattern of some sort.

Okay . . so I take it this isn't a good one? That's okay, I can take the truth. I guess I figured if there weren't any background, there couldn't be a bad background.

I think the main problem with this picture is it's got no real focus point. It's really hard to distinguish what it is. As was previously said, perhaps stepping back would make a better shot, even adding a few fruits around would add more to the picture too? Just a little suggestion :P
