I've been too busy this week to do much, but I would love to get some feedback on this shot. Does it work? I realize I should probably clone out some garbage in the street, but I'm not as sure about some of the lights in the windows. I was also going to try black and white, but I like the splashes of color.

hmmm, im thinking half the street cropped would take care of the garbage...what say ye

I do agree it needs a crop. I think a little off of the left side to even thing up and also some at the bottom. But I really like the suject. Nice capture.

Thanks for the feedback. The street is an easy fix, but I tried cropping the left side and lost part of the red cone, which I like. Maybe I'll try moving the cone in PS and then doing the crop.

I agree the cone adds depth and I would hate to see it go. With the three lights above the sign I wonder what a late evening shot would look like?

Greg, I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't have a chance to get back when it was dark. If anyone is going to Edinburgh anytime soon I can tell them where to find this

i dont like this crop from the left because you lose too much of the brown bricks on the wall....anddd I think the lower crop takes away from some of the algae growing between bricks. these subtle changes kinda turns it grayscale to me...anyway, forget whatever I said earlier

I agree with JK, I like the first one better, I have an edit where I extended the sign, if you would like to see it.

A lot of very good elements in this photo. The door is nicely shaped, colored and lit. The stone walls are interesting and the window is ok. The sign adds to the shot. But to me, the bricked street steals the show. It created a heck of a vanishing point! I do like the second posting better - the composition's superior - but I wish there was more street in that one.

Not much to complain about other than circumstances of the cones being there (I guess you couldn't move them?) and the blue sticker on the window. Right place though slightly the wrong time. Calls for a reshoot maybe

You guys are too hard to please! I can try adding some of the street back in, but then I'd have to clean it up .

I'll see about doing another one with more street in front.

PC, mark me down for the original. I'm in agreement with GB, the brick street is a key element here. Keep it in as is.
