    Re: boulder sky shots

I would prefer that you just use the upload and resize to fit the upload requirements. Both photos are too big for my monitor resolution. That said, colors are very pretty on both images. And I think your exposures are right on. However, a pretty sky doesn't on its own doesn't do much for me. It has to be something really special to stand on its own. I think some foreground is almost always necessary to give the sky some meaning and context. And, although these are pretty, that's about all they are for me. I look at them and wish I could see the whole scene - especially if they were taken in Boulder. Boulder is one of the most beautiful backdrops you could ask for.

    Re: boulder sky shots

    photo-john,

thanks for the advice. I will have smaller pictures next time. I had a hard time getting them up there as it was...still figuring out exactly how it works. I will get it though.

As for your comments, they won't scare me away. I appreciate anyone taking time to give me some constructive critisism. I will be back for more.

i would have included some land in the shot...but i was in a residential neighborhood. right outside my house to be exact. I could not quite see the flatirons or rockies from my vantage point. just the colors up above. but i agree, a little land/backdrop would do these photos some good. thanks for taking the time!

    Re: boulder sky shots

Arom - Welcome to PR foruns. I like your shots for what they are, but they might need a subject. I say "might" because they're nice already, just simple, peaceful shots of the sky, and I like how they show a range of colors. I think the top one is slightly superior. It looks OK on my monitor cause I'm running 1400 px wide resolution, but I think I'd keep it down to 1024 or less for folks that are using that res (note that if you upload a shot it will only allow up to 640, but you got around it with a link)

    Again, welcome to the forum!
