    Border

    Hey guys,

    Taken in Holland at the Ijselmeer.
    Any thoughts?

    I feel like a 1x1 format would work for this. I really like the detail in the rocks.

    The dark artifacts around the clouds bother me. It's like the clouds have shadows against the sky, which is of course not possible.

    I think the 1:1 suggestions is good, keep the foreground but lose most of the sky above the sun.

    Interesting variety of textures. I like the way all the lines coming together in the distance. It creates a very strong visual pathway, drawing the eye toward the building on the horizon. I agree with wfooshee that you could cut about 1/3 of the sky though. At present the horizon is pretty close to dead center -- somewhat of a compositional no-no. Cropping some of the sky would fix that, creating a more dynamic composition and getting rid of the odd looking clouds with the dark halos.
