    Boiling Sky

I was a bit disappointed that I didn't have anything to put as a specific subject, but thought the sky looked cool so I posted this anyway. I seemed to get quite a bit of feedback on Flickr for this, does it work without foreground interest?

That sky is gorgeous! Love the clouds, and love the reflections. I think something in the FG like a small boat would add a little to the image but I don't think it's needed. I like that the horizon is not centered as well.

This is an exceptional picture of clouds. The golden color is very dramatic.

It's in there (but it's really, really small )

I think the clouds themselves are interesting enough to hold the viewer's attention in this case. Nice shot Mr Yuck!

Yes it would be a more interesting photo with a foreground element but hey, I'd have shot a sky like that too. I actually prefer golden sunsets to red ones and that's as pretty a one as I've seen.
I'd be tempted to clone a canoe in there if I knew how.

Add something in the forground with those clouds and that exposure and you'd have a prize winner. As it is, it's too flat.

Nice capture....but we all have had the same problem

    Re: Boiling Sky

As jetrim pointed out -- it's in there, just really small. The magnitude of the water and that beautiful sky in stark contrast to that tiny little "boat" (or whatever it is) is most interesting. Personally, I prefer the lack of some focal point in the foreground in this particular shot.
