one of my first shots with the fuji s1000fd. it was at a family reunion, i was sooting some pictures of everyone and as i turned towards the lake, that's what i saw, i gave it a try.

Welcome, Matt. There is a very lonely and somewhat weird feeling about this scene. I do like it though. Looks somewhat dark with some dodging of light in the grassy areas? Without being able to compare it to the original, i do like the effect.
I think that opening up the crop a bit more would help, but I do think you have a pretty descent shot here. Nice.
