    Blue and Orange

    First Post.

I just recently became interested in photography. I want to minor in it or cinemtagrophy.

I thought this was really beautiful. I took it on a hill behind my house a few weeks ago.

    Re: Blue and Orange

The image as presented here has a few issues. The noise factor is hard to ignore and I find that the trees on both sides of the shot tend to distract leaving my eyes with no single object of focus.

On the other hand I really like the colours in the shot as well as the position of the horizon being below the bottom third of the frame.

    Re: Blue and Orange

    David,

First I'd like to say Welcome to Photography Review!

As far as the photo goes, I don't completely agree with Jaedon. There is no noise factor for me, and only the very dark area of trees on the right distracts me from the picture overall.

I think this is a beautiful photograph, I've never quite seen the way the colors are before, they work great, and the silhouette of trees and horizon has an awesome effect.

When I cover up the right side of darkness/trees, the beauty of the photograph emerges even more. Maybe try to crop it off, not completely, leaving a little bit helps bring the composition together more.

    Good luck!

    Re: Blue and Orange

Welcome , I like the overall composition although i would have preffered to see some more at the bottom. Too much of the lower frame"cut off". I like the tress framing the shot and the colors are eerie and moody, pleasing nonetheless. I do think there is considerable noise in the shot and either from scanning, compression for dislaying on the web, or just basically a low resolution capture, it does take away a bit from this image we see here for viewing.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work

I like the shot - sunrise/sunset scenes can be very intriguing.
You have managed to capture and portray the moment, perfect or otherwise.
The dark area to the right could be cropped without affecting the overall impact of the image.
All in all, a nice first post !
