    A Blue Daisy

Something of an experiment. I would appreciate your comments and critiques.

    Hi OT,
I like the strong colour combination. The petal at the back makes me feel that the flower is withering.

dof, composition, color, focus are all great. Sharp as a tack.
If you do a large print it might help to use the spot healing brush in a few spots on the petals. They don't show unless you look real close here but would in large size.

Rod, YS and Frog thanks for your looks and your comments and suggestions. I wasn't sure if this image would work or not. One of the appealing thinks to me about this daisy was that it wasn't perfectly shaped, but seemed to have kind of a droopy personality all it's own.

This is a very beautiful picture. I especially like the way the background is that solid blue. You don't have to worry about it being blurry or anything because it is one solid color. That is something that I am learning as a beginner always watch the background.
    Good work.

Nice.. like how you got warm and cold together in the same frame (yellow on blue). I think I would like it more if the DOF was deeper and if it was perhaps a little sharper. Not at all bad though. I also think it could stand to have a little cropped off the top, as long as that doesn't mess up the nice blue halo background.

    Re: A Blue Daisy

I appreciate everyone's comments and remarks about this image. And G I agree on closer inspection that a bit more DOF would have improved this shot, although I would still want the back petals to be softer so as to blend more with the soft blue background. As for a top crop i think I prefer to leave it the way it is to maintain the blue halo effect.

Very nice Larry. The sharpness on the Stigma is great. Was your helper involved in this, perhaps holding a blue bg behind the flower? I remember your great shot of the cone flower with the black bg. . .
    excellent.

Thanks Gary! Your input and comments are always very much appreciated. My helper was still at work when I shot this one and I had to rely on and inert object to prop up my background.
