    Blowing Snow

I'm starting to figure this Nikon out. I was taking some pictures of the snow fall, when a gust of wind blew just as I shot. Accidental catch, but it looks better than the ones I got of just the snow falling. What do you think? Any suggestions on how this could have been better will be greatly appreciated. PSE adjustment...auto contrast and auto color and a slight crop to get rid of some extraneous parts.
    Thanx,
    Ken

    Ken,

Compositionally, this isn't the strongest. I love the snow, and the colors are very well done given the situations. I don't know how I would crop this, but it's a toughie.

Nice catch of the snow though,

    Jared

I like the scene here, but overall would have been better if yoiu stepped out a bit more to not include the house edges in the upper frame. The snow is gray, not white as it should be and Chunks gray card might have helped you there. I think though, if you held the shutter button half way to lock exposure while holding camera up to the top of the tree to avoid including the snow in the frame it would have given you a better result. However, you may be able to bring this up some more in PS using levels and white point balance. I like the small ornaments? in the foreground looking out into the scene.

I love snow shots. I think that it would be with a little bit longer exposure to get the snow in the foreground whiter and give the falling snow a bit more blur to show movement. I like the cropping and framing.
