    Been Awhile.....

Sorry I've been away for awhile. Time to get back in the thick of things and start getting some of the groups advice again. To start you off, here are a couple of my latest.

Now, for the one with the lady in white, we wanted to go for a "Nice and Naughty" style instead of just doing leather.

I welcome your thoughts and harsh critiques about the photos, but please, if you have a problem with the model, private message me or something. Don't make it public, ok?

    I await your thoughts.....

Hello Ken, glad to see you back.

Well, honnestly, these kind of pictures aren't my cup of tea but that's beside the purpose of the board so here are my thoughts.

I'd say that both image seems technically well executed. One thing that distract me in both pictures though is the way you crop the front wheel of the chopper. I think I'd prefer to see the wheels uncropped. I don't know where you shot these but I like the wall. It makes for a great background.

what are you talking about problem with the models??!?! Those ladies are smokin'. About the pics, in the one with the lady in white, you cut off the tires and while that isn't a big deal it is the little details that matter. Also that door in the background is kind of distracting, but I think I get the look you were going for. The same thing with the tire applies to the other one for me, but maybe that's not a big deal for most people. I also love how the model in the second picture is looking at the camera, really a beautiful expression. Besides that, the second one also has a bit distracting of a background. Of course, this is just nit-picking on my part, really good work here...

    Re: Been Awhile.....

I agree on the wheels. With the FULL size version of these, the wheels are full. But with cropping them to a good size for uploading and websites, I had to lose a little something.
Nitpicking on the images helps me learn. Anyone who can say that they really know it all, watch out for.

The comment about the problem with the models came from awhile back. I had done a shot, posted it, and someone made a few comments about the model and not the photo.
I can take any critique out there, and learn from it. But messing with the models just doesn't do it in my book.

I think that the lighting and technique are perfect, looks very natural.
The models are knockouts! the BG is great!
By way of critique, the first bike gets slightly lost in the Bg around the seat areaAnd the second gets lost even more so esp behind the models rear leg.
these are both very good, and to me magazine prints. very good lighting!

    Edit
However, if the models are the sub,no critique from me.

    A second look.
I like the way you posed the white outfit agaist the dark BGan vice versa.
The hair stands out nicley in both shots. I think the dark braids against the light BG called this to my attention.
Is this the same model in both shots?

    Hey Ken,

I'm going to agree with the others and say that the lighting in great in these photos, very natural. I'm going to disagree about the front tires being cropped tho, at least in the second image. To me, the crop in #2 puts that front wheel right in my face and make the bike look like it's going to come right thru my monitor, which I love! That being said, the position of the bike makes it hard to see a lot of the details in the bike itself. If this was a shoot to showcase the bike, that might be an issue. If it's a model shoot, the nothing to worry about.

I love the BG in these photos too. Is that a box spring off of a bed sticking up behind the wall? One more question, who is the bike builder?

    Mark,

DIfferent models - the blonde is Rory, and the "red" head is Inga. Both of them did a great job.
