Blossom, Daffodils & my 6 year old daughter

Waited until 6:45pm to take these. Luckily I fuelled Danielle up with dinner before-hand so she was full of energy and willing to perform lol.
As always, your thoughts please (good or bad). Thank you.

I really like the 2nd one, There is just a Flow to it that show off all the energy. I'm not to fond of the last two, Not sure why . The first one, I like it but . I think that might be better in color. there just is not enough contrasting shaded to make anthing ( other than her eyes ) really jump out at me.

2nd one is my favorite. Your daughter has gorgeous hair! I wish her feet would have been showing though. But like splats said, it has a good flow and energy to it.

The b&w could use a little bump in contrast, but they are all still great shots. My favorite is the second, but I really like them all, well done.
I want to start doing portraits soon, and hope I can produce such results.

I agree with Payn on #1 and can't decide about #3 but not sure what I's bothering me about it, but it might be the cut off posy.

I really like #2 and the flow introduced, but shame about the feet.

#4 looks a little too contrived for me purely because of the position of the hands but I like the idea that you were going for. It maybe because the pose is to adult for a child - of that makes sense.

However saying that the exposure and colours are spot on except the colours in #1 of course (chuckle).

Alison...I think Danielle needs to always be in color... She's got such beautiful hair and skin tone...I love the b&w, but the color ones seem to be that much stronger of her.

The 2nd shot...I do like it better with her feet in the pic, but I think you should crop the top of the photo similarly, if it doesn't mess with the balance too much. It looks like there are buildings possibly in the background on that one, and it takes away from the overall carefree, running through fields feel that the cropped one had.

To everyone - Thank you so much for your comments and CC. Ok, ok, you win lol. I shall leave future images, of my pretty little red-head, in colour

Julsoph - I agree about the buildings. The position of her foot concerned me too, which is why I made my first crop. I was trying to keep the dimensions of the photograph the same as you would get sooc.
I have worked on the image this morning. Attempting to get rid of the buildings by cloning in leaves from the bg trees and I rotated her foot.
    What do you think?

You do a good job with photoshopping, that's for sure! The background looks much better, imo...
I didn't actually mind the position of her feet...she kind of looked like she was twirling or something...but with the change it looks like she's running towards the flowers...either way, I think it works pretty well.

Allison...All of these are great and I have nothing to add except thanx for sharing. I agree with emily, that your daughter should "almost" always be shot in color, but I can see some fine b/w portraits of her working very well.
In the first batch...#3 is my favorite...I love big squinty eyed smiles, and she sure has a beautiful big squinty eyed smile!!! hehe

    Thank you so much.
I think in the daffodil one it almost looks like the daffodils are also smelling Danielle lol.
