    Blossom

This one was from my back yard. Not sure what it is. Maybe someone can ID it. What do you think?

    Re: Blossom

I have this tree in my back yard as well.. I never found the ID of it..

Great macro, very sharp. I like how the petals are slightly out of focus, really bringing out the green bud in the front. I find the dieing part of the petal on the right to be a bit distracting being in focus. Maybe try and apply some gaussian blur to that area. Otherwise, Very nice picture.

    Re: Blossom

It looks a bit flat on my monitor. To make it look better, I'd suggest some pp to clean up the petals. If this were my photo, I would crop out some on the right...

Actually, I'm struggling with some of my flower shots myself

    Re: Blossom

pretty sure its a flowering dogwood blossom. (its been a while since ive seen a blossom- like maybe 10 years since our trees died of the fungus- they should have a distinctive vein pattern in the leaves and bud if you search for it or post pics)

i think id make it more white, it looks dark and dirty to me.

I really love the detail on the center. Great shot, makes me want to try out the macro settings on my camera.
