Daq, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at here. Gorgeous scenery? It is very very nice and I wish I was there right now, but other than that I'm not sure what the focus is.

Dead trees from the pine beetle. Am I right?

I don't think the lighting works, it's hard to see the dead trees because they blend in together. Some brighter light on the mountains to help us see the color differences would probably help.

Yeah, that inspired the title, but I admit there ain't much evidence of them in the title. My titles are often kind of tangential though. My brain tends to excel at free association.

    Nice photo!!

There is a bit of a halo around the trunk on the right , it is noticeable vs the far mountain side

    Re: Blight

I am with RidgeTop here, what am I looking at? I don't really see the blight, although being from Wyoming, I know bug kill and I knew where you were going with that. But this really fails to portray that, it shows 3-4 heathy trees blocking 50% of the vista that I wish I could see.

If I were portraying your title, I would have shot an orange pine right in the foreground as a foreground subject with a grand vista in the background with plenty of bug kill showing in the vista, here I have to look for the "blight".

Yeah, fair enough, but if you were portraying my title you would be me and likely would have lost control of the narrative completely by this point. But yeah. The shot sucks. I need to post fewer pictures... A lot fewer.

Oh, and by the way, you are supposed to be looking at a rock. That is pretty much it.

    God I suck...

I hope you're not serious with the previous comments. We all go through the Man I suck phase at different times. I rarely get any comments here. I post and down it goes to the bottom with no comments.

So I wonder, did it suck that bad? No news is good news? If I can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all? I think we all have our insecurities.

I've had a couple of Stone IPAs tonight, maybe too harsh? If I really did kill your buzz I'm sorry, not meant as a buzz kill, meant as genuine criticism to help you (and me) get better.

Take a trip up 119 go to Nederland, Eldora, Rollinsville, Caribou, you live in an absolutely wonderful area. I wish I still lived there.

Nah, it's ok. You weren't too harsh. People need to say what they think and that is perfectly fine. As for the ride, I will be on a bunch of dirt roads up in that area this weekend.
