    Re: Blades

    hey hmnix,

I like it as is. love the minimilist feeling. like the tones of this black and white also. as far as improvements, i think cropping the bottom to about half way of the hill would improve this. nice shot

Has a very eerie feel. The capture stopping the blades raises a question in the viewers mind.

The more I look at this the more I like it.

    Good job.

Great one and I agree with Leels and Len.
Not sure about cropping bottom though it does help the image fit my screen but in a print might be better without crop. Better would be to crop in composing and leave more empty space at top.
    Great simplistic image.

    Nice shot!
The pitch of the blades shows how calm this hillside really was.I like the great B/W tonal range, texture and shadow play on the blades as well. The light here was very good.

    Re: Blades

Thanks for the feed back all Guess I'll have to keep in mind the effect of posting an image 800 high its does seem to make viewing it awkward. Yeah it was a rare calm day normally the wind up there tries blow your hat off. BTW the tower the generator sits on is 70 meters high and each blade is about 35 meters with a low sun lighting them up they are visible along the top of the ranges from 40 km away. There are varying opinions on their effect on the scenery

To me, it sort of shows the remoteness of the windmill. I like the grain here as it adds to the feeling of a very old, long term situation. My only wish were it to have more negative space. Oh, good composition overall.

Great shot. I think the composition emphasizes how big it is. Almost creepy to me, in a good way.

Great stuff and I just love the presence of that old lump of tree as if it is there to keep the mill company in it's isolated environment. The lump presents an interesting contrast against the perfection of the blades.
I would not change a thing here.
