    Black and White

Shot this morning a few blocks from home. C & C welcome, as always.

Nice work I like the low angle and B&W. Don't change a thing.

It's been a long time since I saw eurasian collared-doves!!!

Nice shot, works well in B&W. Love the precise focusing and sharpness. Perfect shooting angle too.

But "something" seems to bother me about the midair dove's position, I would have kinda liked it more off toward the left, along a rule-of-thirds line. Cropping would eliminate many of the other doves, hmm, not sure what can be done to improve. Also, the pigeon on the far right has a wingtip "missing".

Pretty nice catch, well simplified, no distracting background elements. The only thing which bothers me a bit is the already-mentioned flying dove's position... sorry for the criticizing...

Ya know... I tried to tell that dove to stay left, but they just don't follow directions very well. They're easily flustered and then you end up w/ this - pandemonium

Seriously Alex, this is cropped down from a wider shot so I may be able to include the wingtip and push the dove further left. What intrigued me was that all the doves were gathered on the left and all the pigeons on the right (file was saved under the title "segregation" but I though that might be not 'PC' enough for the internet) widening the shot will reveal more doves on the right, which kinda ruins that idea.

jetrim - I like your second posting here a lot! Too bad the background is so pedestrian, but the birds really depict motion and life - nothing like a bunch of free spirit birds flying away from you in a hurry.

Idea for next time then - do the same thing with the feed, but set it up so that the background is plainer, then scare the birds like you did.
