Personally, I'd prefer more space around the birds, and no lens flare.

Personally, I like how the birds are placed and the color, but agree that the lens flare is interfering with the overall feel of the image.

Yes, more birds and less lens flare. You might consider reprocessing and up the saturation a small amount before sharpening. I see a small amount of luminance noise I believe as well around the sun and in the upper left portion of the photo. Then again it may be the light hitting dust or moisture in the air. It isn't really a major issue just noticeable.
