    Re: Bird "Suicide"

I like the image, Marc. While I do not think the bird is in any immediate danger of killing itself ;) it does look as if it is contemplating whether or not to make the move down. So the title does hold humor for me. The blur in fg and some in bg is to be expected with that focal length and I do not find it hurtful to the picture. I think when you post the other version with richer greens and maybe deeper color altogether it should reall look quite nice.

When I saw the title I was expecting some drama or something grotesque. What I see is a rather gentle little moment of indecision (on the birds part). I thing the foreground blur is a little too much and I think you may have got a better result by just raising the camera higher.

Your title adds a lot to the image.

As far as the image goes I think there is too much of the same empty space on the left and bottom-perhaps a 10-15% crop there. And as you said richer color would be nice (but doesn't take away from the humor here).

    Re: Bird "Suicide"

Tom, i thought up the title as i took the shot.... there are other shots where the bird has the attitude of Napoleon... I am gonna set them up as a "threesome" later on.... As for the foreground, you're right.... the more i review the image the more i realize i needed less... but this crop was done in post, i was too far, and these are my first flirtations with "wildlife"....

    Thanks for the advice though....

MB1 - I am looking to improve this, since the actual image has the bird centered and surrounded by alot of the same..... glad you appreciate the humour though

Markus, I think you did well, I like how it is framed and the blurred foreground works here. I also find it hard to get detail out of black animals and you did well in that area too, nice picture,
