    Bird related

Came from work today and went to the computer to check my emails and what not when suddenly...a power outage. What to do? grabbed my camera and went outside and shot this. Not the best but I liked how the bird looked since I shot that one without almost any prep at all, just saw it and pulled the trigger! The bird house was painted by my kids.

We have a bird house like that, too. It fell down in a windstorm and when I put it back up, I noticed the date on it was from five years ago. My how time flies and the kids grow.

The bird photo kinda needs more clarity and more of head-on view, but you knew that already.

I like the bird house, but it doesn't really move me. Technically, it is a touch washed out.

Well, even though you didn't get the clarity on the bird that you did with the birdhouse, it still has a certain draw to it - especially for a grab shot. I think it is the form of the bird and the pattern within the wings and the color that are the attraction for me.

For me, it is the colors in your birdhouse photo and the in-your-face presentation. I like the rich blues of it against branch colors -- and the story is the best! My granddaughter did her handprint as a gift for her dad's birthday - and as he said, he will treasure it forever!
