A big yellow flower and a fawn

I took the shots of the baby deer with a 135mm lens, and was getting within 20 feet of it at times... these are the best two shots.

    And the flower:

Wow, what a beautiful little animal... almost looks like a fairy tale shot. Good old summertime.

The flower is a bit too soft for me. Good DOF though.

dwaugh, the baby deer is cute but I can't say that I am found of these two. I guess it's a bit too straighforward in terms of presentation. I guess that you don't face these little guys all the time but it might work to try a reshot with longer glass (if possible) to zoom more tightly on the deer and compose some close-up.

I really dig your flower shot, it's a bit soft as GB noted but I find your composition to be truly excellent.

It's the first time I have gotten any deer shots, so I thought I would share. I may go take another shot of that flower, just a bit different of an angle.

EDIT: What do you mean by soft? Not quite in focus 100%? The flower has a fine layer of fuzz on it I believe....
