    Big Time . . .

I had the pleasure of getting together with Seb this last Sunday as he was in N.Y for the weekend. I took him around to some of my favorite photo op stomping grounds, and we had a great day of it. Here is an image from the day that i had been wanting to get for some time.
Anyhow, your thoughts i would like
    Thanks

Very nice composition. Would have liked to see less pavement, more sky.
Nice job controlling the exposure on the sky- it looks overcast.
Is that you behind Seb? And are the hands on the clock off?

    Hi Gary,
The composition is well planned and effective. The moment of the shot taken is very precise as the clock stuck at exactly twelve. I feel a relaxing moment in the shot. Is that your intention?

    Hmm...

    High Noon.

    or

    A Split in Time.

Good photo, would like a little more detail in the clouds. I know how that is though.

Excellent Gary. Well timed exposure. For me the man in the background/center holds as much if not more importance for the composition than the man waiting on time. On close inspection I think the clockfaces are showing different times by about 5 mins.

    Re: Big Time . . .

Rebekah. . . the sky was not all that appealing this day and so I chose to go with more pavement. . .but it could have went either way. I just did what "felt" pleasing to me at the time.yes, the hands of the clock are off by 5 min.

Seb. . .thanks for your totally "unbiased" opinion. btw, we did ok, but I would not want to be without my main model again!

Yoyo . . .I'm always interested in your take on an image as you have a unique perspective on things. The thought that this image brings a relaxing mood is a very important as I feel that a well composed image should have a calming effect when viewed. A subtle detail of this shot that I had in mind is that both subjects have their arms extended, mimicked by the light posts in the distance that are vertical with their "arms" extended. Anyway, i appreciate your comments.

drg . . .I wonder what the other two faces on this clock stated the time was. I'll have to take note of that next time I'm back there. With this overcast sky, I'm happy there was any detail in there at all.
Thanks for the time to comment

Tom. . .thanks for the good words. I appreciate your thoughts on the subject in the middle. I also find that this helps bring the eye over towards the distance and out to the light posts. The big clock is so prominent and dominating, that the center man helps pull the eye away to explore .
