Big Pine in Big Cottonwood Canyon

Picked a newly infrared-converted Pentax D100 and tried it out on this tree

Wow! I love this shot. You make me want to run out and get an infra-red lens. Beautiful contrast, perfect clouds, great composition.
If I had to find something to improve, it might br the left side of the subject tree, especially the lower half. It seems to have such a small amount of contrast that this area appears a bit muddled, if that's the right word to use.
But, please, I think this shot is gorgeous as it is.

Jeff - Wow indeed. This looks really close to the old infrared images. Great sky, interesting tree. Compositionally it's mostly great, but you might consider trimming a little off the top or the bottom so that the amt of negative space isn't symmetric top and bottom.

This opens up a lot of possibilities. Maybe around Halloween you could do some really neat and scary stuff - broomsticks, black cats, etc, with the black background.

Thanks for the comments. I tried opening up and adding a bit of contrast on the lower-left side of tree...not sure it made much difference though. I do believe the cropping helped however: good suggestion.
