    The Big Move

    This is an XB-55 Ascender, which was being moved from one building to another at the Air Zoo where I volunteer. The XB-55 is on loan from the Smithsonian.

    Thanks Xia. It was ordered by the Army in 1939, but never reached the production stage other than a couple of prototypes.

    I've seen pics of them before but not in a long time.
    I like the last shot best. In number 2 part of the wing is chopped off. Also number 4 might have been better if all of the right wing showed. You might have had tight quarters in that one, though.
    All in all a great subject and good shots.

    Thanks Frog.....I hadn't originally intended to post #2 for exactly the reason you stated, but I thought people would like to see the whole aircraft, so I threw it in. Indeed, quarters were tight . Now that the bird is inside, I can get a better shot of it on display. I'll be taking my camera over next week.
