Without the biker, it would be just ordinary. It might interresting to see the biker enlarged a bit and more of the focus of the shot. That being said, I'd be proud if it was one of my shots!

This looks like the outside of the museum across the street from the White House in D.C. Is that the old executive office building reflected in the windows? Nice shot. I have often admired the detail of that museum's facade but lacked a suitable scene to set it in. I think this is a good answer to that. Beautiful composition and tones. Thanks for sharing it!

The image is too well balanced with the column down the centre which takes away with its texture the visual attention from your centre of interest.

    Re: Bicyclist

I had to look twice to see why the picture was titled "Bicyclist." I think that if the columns were off center, or if the window was cropped so that the top of the windows don't look complete, it would draw the focus down a bit. Otherwise, very interesting photo!

I like the composition of this one. I think the choice of B&W was right and you controlled the reflections in the windows well. I like the pottery in the window on the right. Nice work.

    Re: Bicyclist

I like the shot, and for me, having to look down to see the biker sitting quietly in his own little world makes it intriguing. At first, i felt unsettled about the center column being off center from between the two windows as everything else is in good symetry. The more I view, the more at ease I am with it. Tones are very strong.

That's an interesting capture and I enjoy the tones. I don't think that I can fault it. I really like the proportions.

Tuna,,,first thing I noticed was the tonal range,,,clean whites and solid blacks with a long midrange of greys...The building could stand on its own pictorially by including the bicyclist you have added extra interest...Great shot..

This was shot within view of the White House grounds - on the west side - I believe I was near G and 18th - I'm not sure what building it was - I was simply struck by the architects creation and saw the chance to represent his/her work using the bicyclist as scale. I was rushing through in cold weather on my way to catch the Metro - but the area was full of street shooting opportunities and I plan to return.

Pretty much everyone has made nice coments on the picture. The one thing that stands out to me in the picture is the bike, it;s a single speed! with that said everybody see's something different in each shot.
