    Bibb Theatre

Perhaps the shadow is too much? In some ways I like it, it has a "classic" feel to me. This theatre was abandoned long ago, and a group is trying to reopen it. I am trying to convey the age, abandonment, and possibly newfound future of this place all in one photo (hence the darkness into light). I did shoot it without the shadow, but it isn't as moody to me. Your thoughts?

I like the angles you have going here and the tones you managed to capture.

A couple of things that distract me are the top left corner - a roof or something needs to be cloned

The black lines coming out bottom left would be better if their not there

Is there a tree groing on top of the roof of the building behind the sign?

You clipped the edge of the sign bottom right.

Sorry to be so critical but other than those good shooting

Didn't get the abandonment, and possibly newfound future from this photo but did get the new v old architecture. Still like it.

    Re: Bibb Theatre

I appreciate your comments. The "new life" is represented in this case by the sun rising onto the sign, guess that is more a spiritual thing. Yes, that is a tree growing on top of the building. It was built in the 1840's, and the rooftop is part of the same building as the theatre. The people that built this simply covered the theatre with a layer of slate (?).

NEVER be sorry to be critical. Feedback is always important, and I appreciate it very much. One thing that is always interesting in critique is another's interpretation of one's work, and that is exactly what I take critique as. It is unfortunate that as a group we don't offer more feedback (myself included) because we don't want to discourage or hurt anyone. However, I for one post only work I am not sure of, or things I am experimenting with, so getting discouraged is not an issue.

I like it, payn. I have some of the same concerns as roger, but over all a very nice image. This is one that just has to be done in b/w since it definitely gives it that old feeling. The old to new feeling is really something very subjective. I don't feel it, but someone else may.

It looks like an interesting buidling.

Person with the same philosophy as me - I only post the things I have concern with.

    About to post another.
