    Beyond the foam.

Surfer at Salmon Creek, California. On 2/20/06 (President's Day)

Taken at 12x zoom from my brother's S2IS, no crop, only resize

    Re: Beyond the foam.

At the risk of sounding nitpicky, although the waves dominate the shot and greatly show the power of ma nature, I would love to see more of the surfer. Plus he looks a little dark. JMHO.

    Re: Beyond the foam.

Thanks, I've been playing with the crops a bit, I upped the contrast in fireworks by 9. Any other crops you suggest? Also, any way to correct the darkness of the surfer other than reshooting at a different time of day with warmer water (that is, no hood) ;)

getting the focus right was also hard, it was my first time using my brother's S2IS, which has an LCD viewfinder and it was bright out and I was zoomed in 12x. So keeping the surfer in the frame in the first place is difficult

Edit: wow....5 megapixel gives a lot of cropping power!
