    Welcome!
I see two things here that I like..
Specialized shoes are always good and so are singlespeeds!
    Seriously though....
I am not so sure the sepia makes this any more interesting of a photograph than if it weren't toned.
The way you composed it, with you and the bike off center is good and the blurred background works too.
Keep shooting, keep posting here and make sure you check out the other forums too!

Hi, and welcome to the forums! For a first post you have made a really first class start I think. It is creatively framed and toned. The one thing that does bother me slightly is whatever it is in the lower left hand corner. Even so, kudos for your creativity (not to mention daring in taking that image while you are barrelling along!)

    Cheers

hehe - thanks. Yeah, looking down at an lcd while riding forward is not the safest thing to do.

I have the photo in b&w too somewhere - its kind of a toss up but I think I found the sepia tone a little more interesting for me, but I've always been a sucka for it.

Brian - I love my single speed and ride the heck outta it.

Yes, great first post. Very interesting idea and implementation. As with Mike, I find the black handlebar thing in the upper left distracting, but even with all the other objects I think the overall composition is successful (it sure isn't boring). Not sure about the sepia tone - maybe trying some other colors too and posting them might show some better alternatives.

    Keep shootin'

ah - the stem. Lol. Since I'm a cyclist (actually on a local race team) and spend a lot of time in the saddle I didn't even notice it. I suppose it is a bit distracting. I think it could be cropped out fairly easily.

I have a larger version in b&w that I could post if I can get my hands on it....

It wasn't the stem I meant - that is ok. It was the knee (?)

This is great. I am just about to finish a second of Lance Armstrong's books so good timing. Could you explain to me how you managed to take this shot please. I think the thingy Didache is referring to is your hat?
