    Brian-
No one ever knows what to say about your Holga photos. Must be tough being such a hoity-toity artiste

When I first looked at this I thought, "so what?"

But I kept looking. And as I looked I kept noticing more details and being drawn in by all the boxes and layers of angles. It's really a very cool photo. But it requires just a little patience to get started on the viewer (this one, anyway). That's not criticism. Sometimes that's just the way it is. Some stuff reaches out and grabs you and other things sneak up and just sort of take over. This is the latter. And I generally prefer the sneaky stuff. Maybe it's cause I have a complete lack of subtletl y in my own work

I guess I don't have any real criticism for this photo. Sorry about that. I do have an observation about it, though. Looking at all the repetitious patterns I can't help wishing you'd shot a grid of nine overlapping photos. Think about how cool that would be. You would be adding a whole new layer of patterns to what's in ths photo. I don't know. Maybe it wouldn't have worked. But I like the idea and thought I should toss it out there.

I'm psyched about your Holga photos. They're a great addition to the site. You and Megan make me proud.

I love the soft focus. The view of the tall building through the skylight looks like heaven.

    Beautiful!

Had I shot that view, I probably would have instinctively composed the shot so that the skylight grid was aligned with the photo edges.

But the angle is much better. It's much more interesting and less contrived than a straight-on shot would have been.

You know John, I think this is probably the best thing someone has ever said about my photography.
And I think your comments are help to me in putting into words why I do what I do.
Thanks John! Thanks everyone for commenting.
