    Bella Jane (B&W C41)

So here is a photo of the reason why I don't get much time shoot anymore.

It's the first time I've shot C41 B&W film, so I'm looking for some more tips on how I can improve.

Other than her left foot being cut off, what else can I improve on?

    Cheers

George Zimbel: Digital diahhrea is a disease for which there is a simple cure. Take one frame of a scene. It is exquisite training for your eye and your brain. Try it for a month. Then try it for another month…then try it for another month…..

You might want to post this in the film forum for tips specifically related to that, but from what I see here it looks like you have alot of gray in this image. Adjustment of contrast and levels would help to bring some white and black into the photo. Other than that and the foot, it's fine.
That is a very good reason for lack of time to shoot. . .

Thanks for the time to comment.

So its a lack of contrast? I found there were plenty of photo's that suffered from a lack of contrast, the surroundings were too similar to the subject, and hence didn't come out right. I have another roll of film which I intend to shoot on, plus buy another ten.

I'll be posting up the decent pics when I get a chance :-)

Actually, it seems your levels and contrast is fine. What this suffers from is the fact that everything in the frame is similiar in shade and tone. If the couch was a certain color, than attaching a specific color filter to your lens would have brought out a darker tone to the couch and allowed the baby to stand out alot more. In the Film forum, you can get alot of good advice and suggestions for shooting with film. If your going to be shooting b&w film, then having filters for your lenses is a good idea.
btw, this certainly is a decent photo.
