Interesting shot. I love the black and white, yet the top left corner isn't working for me. I think I would've chose a different angle, probably more straight on, to avoid getting the roof of a house in there. The tones are great, just some compositional issues!

    Nice shot,

ohhh...ive driven a beetle for 10 years (until last month!) and this is a great way to capture the bug. i love the shot. but i agree - the top left hand corner isnot working for me. but not due to the roof - i actually like the line it creates. its just a little washed out for me. i want the tones just a smidge richer. i like the comp, just not sure about the print. i guess the opp. of the above comment? :]

I like this shot. I like the point of view and the bg. The tree and the line from the roof are creating an intersting perspective and balance. works for me as it is. good job

    Re: Beetle

I agree with Jared on this one, the tones are great in the beetle, with great detail, but i too find the roof line distracting. I love the angle taken, but the background distracts me, the trees and the roof line pull me away from the centre of attention, namely the car.

This aint enough to take away from a great photo all the same. congrats

    cheers

    Re: Beetle

    Nice job.
I like the composition and the angle works very well for this car. I like the rickness of the tones on the beetle. The chrome also turned out very nice, especially the little flairs that were captured.
The sky, roof and tree really don't bother me too much...it would of been a stronger compositions without the roofline, but considering you have to shot with what is in front of you...ya did a great job. Nice dof. Well done.
    Cheers.

    Re: Beetle

call me perverse but does anyone else see the alien face reflected in the front fender?

regardless of what you would want to call it, i think it is a fascinating image and one i would crop and make a totally different photo of.

to me it is the only interesting section.

love to see what you could do with that!

    Re: Beetle

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments. I wasn't too sure in the beginning how well I pulled this one off. I guess I did.

Yes the top left is a little washed out, but I wanted to get good exposure with the car, as it was a cloudy day, and the car is dark green.

    Alien face?!?

Butty, is it the title or my screen that is puzzling you?

    Thanks again.
