Been Tryin' to Get This for Five Years...

99.9% of the pictures I've taken of my dog stink, but I kinda liked this one. Do you?

Well worth the wait - its a beautiful portrait. One definately to hang over the fire.

Calender, Chocolate Box, Magazine Cover; they don't deserve this.
Frame it and hang it somewhere that the world can see.
    Congratulations.

From a confirmed dog lover, great shot. Can't really find much at fault with it. As the others have said, PFH.

i love the DoF lava! The grass and the background help frame the dog quite well. I think you did a very nice job.

Re: Been Tryin' to Get This for Five Years...

As a sort of pet portraitists myself I have to say this is a very beautiful shot, Lava. My only criticism is that the bottom of the pic needs just a tad more space. When you go to frame this it will cut off part of your pet. Other than that, I think this is great.

Hey, Lava Lamp - first of all, great shot!

I had two Shelties in the past and I couldn't get a single shot that I considered worthy of their loyalty, intelligence, and obedience.

I would only say that since this composition/position does not lend itself to the rule-of-thirds, I might just make it square.

    Great expression.

Yes Lava it definitely is a great shot. You caught him thinking of a big idea.

Love it! Nice background transition from green to gold which also complement the dog quite well.
