    Beached Can

    Any preference for these shots?
If you do prefer one, or not, why?
I want to know what works
    And what doesn't

    Re: Beached Can

is the can superimposed? I love the beach shot but feel the can looks staged somehow and i can't quite put my finger on it.
Please ask before editing my photos.
    Cheers
    Robert.

No, the can is where I found it.
You can see at the bottom the stones are in front of it and obscuring the unpainted bit.
There was even a bit of drink left in it - someone had just wandered off and abandoned it !

The only staged bit was that I waited for waves big enough to make a background
But the composition of the two shots is subtly different...

I don't have a preference though the second is closer. I would like it more if the can was farther down towards the waves, even if you did have to stage it.
I always have trouble getting a good shot of litter though it does tell a story.

    Interesting illusion that.
Unless they are being presented the wrong way round.

The photo without the breaking wave on the left is on top for me (http://forums.photographyreview.com/...1&d=1222973020) so I'd call that first.

The photo with the breaking wave on the left is on the bottom for me (http://forums.photographyreview.com/...1&d=1222973020) and I'd call that second.

I didn't change my viewpoint and I don't think I zoomed at all, I just put the can on and off the 1/3 by pan/tilt.

Really wild pictures! The can makes the scene so surrealistic. Love all the different textures. The second is my favorite, the space is divided a bit nicer, and the wave adds a tension.
