    Re: At The Beach

It sure feels like one is walking down the steps. A lot of good periphery stuff happening, but the major wide open area in the center makes me feel out of place. But the fact that the photo draws out that emotion shows how powerful it is.

I like it but can't help seeing a shadow (I think you) taking the shot at the top of the stairs?

The face of the little boy in the lower left is a delight to find.

Your pictures always seem to tell a story or have meaning. I like the placement of the horizon giving more importance to the scene on the beach. You always make it look so easy and I know better.

    Re: At The Beach

All the elements are here for a fascinating image. The box on the left holding it in, the railings inviting the viewer to enter the empty central area, the boat in the sea, the lovely evening light with its rich shadows, some fascinating characters (especially the child and the man with the metal detector (?)).

I found myself wishing there were not quite so many people at the water's edge .. one person, I think, would have added to the tension in the image. Still, you've captured something I could let my eyes wander around for ages wondering what the stories are.

Thanks, guys - OK we're renaming this one "Me and My Shadow 0" because it is now the belated first of a series!
