    BBQ lunch - $6.00

Not sure if either of these are working with the PP but a little stumped on how to improve them. (Edit - the gradient artifacts showing in the first, do not show in the full size image)

I prefer the second one, this is a good street photo. lots of elements there... street sign, extra wood, sign, cook, smoke, etc

I like the first one best because you can see his face. I'm mixed feelings about the crop, on one hand, the sign and the lid spring is an important inclusion, yet it still feels like too much dead space at top. The image looks a bit too hazy too. The gradient is nice and smooth but I think might be too transparent, like you downsized the opacity. I do like the shots though, good work and great placement of the bbq sign in frame.

Hard to say jet, i think I prefer the composition of number two the most. All of the sign and wood are in the shot but I prefer the processing on number one. Perhaps number two in color along with the slight vignetting. You might also clone out the bush in the right of the frame and bring out the street sign some.

I much prefer the top one as the color works and as Anbesol says you can see his face. Nice gradual density, pleasing to the eye. I'd cosider cropping out a big chunk of the top as it will put the emphasis on him. This one could be a contest winner.

    Re: BBQ lunch - $6.00

OK I've tried a few things and think I've come up with a crop I'm pleased with, at Anbesol and GB's prompting. I thought losing the top of the stacks and the street sign would take a lot away from the scene, but I like the idea of centering the attention on the cook. [EDIT] ooops, forgot to clone out the bush, but consider it gone...

The top crop works for me nicely, smoke seems to over power the second, must make his eyes water though.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...
