    Bath night

I've been working the late shift and noticed the aircraft cleaners washing the airplanes at night, it's been pretty cold lately so a lot of steam comes up when they wash, thought it made an interesting photo. Any comments?

    Hey,

I'm interested in the photo, I think it's a good subject, although I could be biased as I've worked around aircraft for almost 9 years now.

The aircraft and steam have come out quite well, just those lights bug me but I'm not sure what you could do about that.

I like it. I'm undecided about the lights. One time I look and they distract but the next time they add to the ambviance.

I got to see this one before he posted it here since I know Byron. I really like this photo. To me it tells a story. I can see where some might find the lights as distracting, but in this photo they did not bother me, they are part of the story. The lights don't hold my eye, the plane gets my attention with the people around it telling the story.

Hey Byron, I think this is very good. the lights are not distracting to me here, atually they set up a mood and the situation. I like the glow that they give to the steam. what I really like here also is the silhouettes of the persons standing off to the left. Nice framing.
    Good stuff

Very spectacular photo--I love the clouds of steam or vapor.

I like it a lot but I wonder how it would look if you had gotten closer so you were in the shadow of the plane and the lights were out of the frame.........
    No, I DON'T need that.

The camera I used is my new Nikon D300, very happy with it. The lens is an 18-200 The photo was shot at f/5.3 at 1/50 sec. ISO 1250. I am truly amazed at what I can do with this rig. My first 'Real camera was a Minolta SRT 101 many years ago, but family/job/life took me away from photography, but digital allows me so much more. Thanks for all the kind words.

If one didn't know better, a person might think it is smoke rather than steam. The forward set of lights work for me, but the aft set do tend to draw my attention away from steam. Very cool shot.

Light glorifies everything. It transforms and ennobles the most commonplace and ordinary subjects. The object is nothing; light is everything.
