    Baskatong lake

Here's one from my vacation up in the Maniwaki region in the province of Quebec.

Nice shot, lovely sky. My own amatewur thoughts are:
The foreground seems a bit uneccessary to me, and there's something on the left, looks a bit orange flourescent, which is a bit distracting. I would probably have gona a little closer and cut out the fence and the gravel.

Just my thoughts, hope you don't mind?

I like the framing of this. I Agree that the gravel is a bit distracting. it woulda been nicer had it been all grash. it's just a little bright and hence takes away from the focus. You exposed this really well though through the picture. Everything seems very well exposed.

I hope you don't mind some touch-up's being done to your work.
For what I did: I cloned the lake so it looks more open, trimmed back to the tree, also took out the one brush to the top of the fence, Cloned the grass to replace the gravel
    I think it looks better.

Thanks for the comments! Thanks for the example icicle, you're right, it looks better like that. i'll have to post the result after i retouch my original. Dave, your comment will always be welcome. you're right about maybe trying and go alitle closer, but i also like the way the opening on the fence lead you to the opening of the gazebo, so i might crop a bit in the botom but i'll keep most of the fence and maybe crop a litle bit on each side... i'll see.

No cproblem Matt. I actually like the edit, the gravel going has suddenly opened the shot up, so that lead in through the gate works for me.
    good luck with your edit.

I like both versions. I agree that gravel is distracting, but then I feel that its color is strangely complimentary to the rest of the image. So tough call.
