    Beautiful light you caught there.
My only critique is that you lost the back end of the barn.

very nice time of day to have caught this. i agree about the bit being cut off is a draw back. other than that, i was gonna say it might need a bit of contrast but that would lose the nice feel of this shot.

I agree with the others on more space at the back. But the front of the scene is perfect. Great lighting and color. I really like it.

Lovely indeed and I love the facial expression on the front of the barn; but then again it is in good health in comparison to Gary's barn so it is entitled to smile as it poses in that lovely light. I would like to see the end of the barn and perhaps also a little space between barn and house. very enjoyable image anyway.

This is quite a lovely barn. Beautiful lighting . The soft pastel colors in the fg add much to this scene. I agree about the back end missing, but other than that it is very good.

    Hmm.

The detail on the grass is amazing. So are the colors. Hats off on that.

The building is nice but somehow it's plainness is contrasting with the detail on the grass and the sky. Interesting, ...

The sky is great. The composition is well done. The barn's face seems a little over-exposed but everything else is properly exposed, so ..

    Re: Barn at Creamer's Field

    Thanks for the kind words.

I cut off the back of the barn because there are a few bad elements on that side of the photo, a chain link fence and another building that is not nearly as appealing as the barn. I debated on whether those elements helped the photo because the barn felt finished or hurt because they are just ugly. In the end I eliminated the bad elements.

I agree with what you have done as you explained it, as you can see a little bit of the link fence and those two drums sort of make me lose the 'period setting' of the rest of the image.. Good stuff though. It would be beautiful is you could lose the fence and the drums, as the barn it's self looks to be a work of art.Would it be early 1900's.? We have nothing like that in the bush over here..

From what I have read, it was built in the 1930s to 1940s. It's a little unusual to have a barn like that here in Fairbanks AK too. The area has been a preserve as long as I can remember. I try to get out there at least a couple of times a year.

    Nice shot.

Great light...great detail.......a little more room on the back laft is the only nit.

Might be interesting to go back and shoot from a little lower perspective w a wider FOV, but that's just curiousity and shouldn't be taken as anything to detract from this really good capture.

Beautiful elements to this photo. I think since you felt the need to crop the back part of the barn to eliminate some unsightly features anyway, I might have cropped out even more than you did as well as crop out some (but not all) of those "weeds" in the foreground.
