I don't like the background for the wire and I am not sure about the color of the wire plus the focus doesn't seem all that sharp on the wire.

For this image I think if you moved down just a little bit so the city lights were below the wire and the wire was sharply outlined against the blue sky it would be a lot better.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Callum, i like the concept alot here of focusing on the barbed wire close up in the fg with the city lights and sky behind. i think MB1 makes some good points and suggestions here. The focus on the barbed wire should be sharper. his suggestion of shooting from a lower vantage point to bring the barbed wire up into the sky would be good to get a bigger visual impact from this.
I like what you were going for here and accomplished to a degree.
    Keep up the good work.

    Re: Barbed City

I think the background lights are awesome, but I am not sure that they go with the barbed wire. One portrays Verboten area, whereas the other portrays a Night on the Town feeling. I guess from a contrast perspective they work though (.. just thought of that!). The wire is probably a little overexposed.

Those background lights, ... they have so much potential. How bout taking a few wine glasses and a bottle of Champaign and making an arrangement where they are nicely presented with the lights behind them.....?
