    Bankside

I'm annoyed with myself that I have not been out over the last month or two. I promise myself but when weekends arrive I just for some reason cannot be bothered. So to keep my hand in I am posting one from my last Thames-side outing. It's a bit small but have I just noticed we can post up tp 800 pixels now, There's a bigger version in my gallery.
Looking forward to hearing how you feel about this one.

I think the image is too dark and contrasty and there is too much foreground. OTOH it looks like a nice place for some abstract images and composition studies.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I think the hard contrast is what delivers here in this image. It seems to show us a few layers diagonally and each layer offsets and displays the next with the hard contrast.
I agree with MB1 in that this looks like a place full of great abstract and compositional approaches and i think you have one here that is worthy. i like the small line of pylons marching up to the dilapidated pier. I don't feel this is one of your stronger images, but i'm not dissapointed nonetheless.

It's a nice shot and you put it together well but feel it only needs another element or a subject.

    Re: Bankside

I noticed in a thread somewhere that we could post pics up to 800 on a side so I tried it and did not get the dreaded too big message. Can't find any official announcement but also haven't had any complaints so I guess we can.
I like the subject in your shot but can't put my finger on what doesn't quite work.
    Maybe some different angles?

    MB, Greg Gary and Frog
It's a good area but it was impossible to get beyond the stones that day due to the soft mud and I had my high heels on,one of which I became seperated from momentarily. . I agree with the general comments as well. I am endeavouring to get out this weekend and come up with something more worthwhile.
    Thanks again

Can you get a self portrait shot of you stuck in the mud with your high heels? :yikes:
