    Backward Compatible?

    Hi All,
I am not sure whether the composition works. Welcome your comments.

I like it. The upside down factor plus the harsh black and white works perfectly for this shot! Very well done and all the geometry is great! Very well done! Almost an abstract feel.

I like this a lot because it is soo contrasty. Very nice silouttes going on here. The composition works very well because the foliage adds a nice frame and the pipe gives the eye something to focus on.
I wouldn't change a thing on this. This is one of my favorites of you latest submissions. Very abstract and pleasing to the eye.
    Good job!
    Cheers.

I like it, but I might be more careful to align the horizontal lines in the roof parallel to the top and bottom of the photograph. I'm also wondering if it might not look a little better of the center post (in gray) leading up to the roof was entirely silhoutted.

    Re: Backward Compatible?

    Dear Yoyo,

This works very well. The silhouette is well exicuted. The leaves are a tad distracting, not much though. They break up the negative space nicely. The curve of the pipe makes a nice centerpiece, and the windows make a pleasing geometric backdrop. It seems slightly tilted, so correcting that might be good. A well exicuted shot.

I love the pipe in the foreground and the strong contrasting patterns are great, sadly I have to agree with the comments regarding tilt but still a strong image Yoyo!

    Re: Backward Compatible?

Hi Jared, Thanks for the appreciation of and analysis of the photo.

Hi PlantedTao, Thanks for the kind words. Your critique reminds me that your photos are also contrasty.

Hi Furchin, Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Drew, Thanks for the suggestion on the level.

Hi Herriot, The shot was taken in the Hong Kong Park, Central. Have you been there?
