    Hi Chunk,

My first thought was neat! followed by a little creepy those unseen eyes watching you from the grass. I wish there were more detail around the fawn's face. Maybe it's my monitor but the ears look odd and disconnected because of the darkness of the shadows.

Aside from that the image is cunningly composed. I like how you have him tucked into the corner and lower down the frame. I would have been so tempted to plunk it right in the middle. How neat to catch though! Did it surprise you or did you see it settle down and sneak up on it?

I like it ,Chunk. Good placement of the little guy in the grass, and although it is hidden and not immediately seen, it makes the shot. Good

Thanks for your thoughts. A friend had seen the fawn stand up to stretch and lie back down just outside the campground we were staying at in Custer, SD.
The early morning light left the deep shadows and exposing the fawns face better left the grass blown out so I went more for the hidden look which I think is appropriate here. The fawn didn't move a muscle during the time I was on top of a picnic table taking this at max (12x) zoom. This is cropped out of an image about twice as large where the fawn was centered since I figured on the crop.

Well then, given those conditions I'd say this is great!

    Cheers!

At first I thought it was a rabbit. Good shot. Did she bolt soon afterwards?
