Back Lite Turret Arch

Not normally shot like this, Turret Arch is back lite by the late afternoon sun, with HDR bringing out some shadow details.

I like it a lot. I think there's some haloing around the rock, which may draw some nit picks.

The forground is still a little dark, at least on my monitor. Love the way the clouds seem to be radiating from the rock. - Terry

Hmm, well I was thinking sort of the opposite of clicker, I think the foreground is a little too bright. It makes it look like HDR instead of natural, but its very close, I think just a slight push down on tones would make it look naturally convincing. I have a pretty conservative taste for HDR's though, so I'm sure plenty will disagree with me.

I also dont see any halo, though the clouds themselves are a bit of a 'halo' for the rock.

Thanks all for your comments. I use exposure fusion or HDR quite a bit, but tend toward keeping the sliders in control. Finding the right balance between contrast, shadows/bright, and tones is both subjective and tricky. I want my images to look interesting and even (dare I say) unique, but I don't want them to shout HDR. A mere whisper is fine.
