    baby blue jay

well I went out to redefine myself and found a baby blue jay hiding in the bushes around my house. Is this to dark and to centered ?

Never seen a baby blue jay before, too bad for the grass but that can't be helped.

    Nice capture.
Yeah there is a lot of grass there, but that's why moma thinks you are safe there.
The focus seems spot on for the bird. I like it very much.

I don't think there's too much grass as it helps define what your are getting.
Very good focus on the bird. Just wish I could see and eye better.
I don't think the centering hurts in this case.

    Re: baby blue jay

I would recommend at least brighten the bird and darken the grass, assuming you would like the viewers to pay attention to the bird rather than the grass.

    Re: baby blue jay

Personal opinion, I suppose but I prefer the first one.

I would tone down the green a bit more. Still, the idea is to get the viewers look at the bird, your center of interest, more than get distracted by something else.

The major problem- which appears to be incorrigible - is the grass in front of the bird, i.e., you don't have a clear view of the blue jay. I would suggest a re-shoot under better condition.

i know that the subject of the picture is the blue jay, but i think its fine with the grass in the way. Just adds nature to the nature shot. The first shot does it justice, its exactly what you saw and how you saw it at a great angle too. Like a lion in tall grass or something - love the first picture
