George Zimbel: Digital diahhrea is a disease for which there is a simple cure. Take one frame of a scene. It is exquisite training for your eye and your brain. Try it for a month. Then try it for another month…then try it for another month…..
It looks pretty nice but in the size you posted it I can't see the whole image without scrolling so it is hard to get a feel for how it looks as a whole.
I didn't self critique the first one, so I'll do it here: I thought it was a little dark, so I used the curves function to lighten it up a little. Overall, I'm reasonably happy with the shot.

hey danic, love the building and your go at it. as far as improvements, i would think shooting earlier in the night and pulling a bit of info/data from the skies would make it better. also i think the entire scene can use a bit of lightning. just a bit too dark for me

I find the differences between the 2 images to be striking, there is much more shadow detail available in the larger version-the smaller looks lighter with the highlights blown out. I assume that is just due to the resizing program....
As for the image I think you have found a nice spot there. The varied lines, angles and textures are quite compelling. I think a small crop from the bottom is in order and as Leels noted shooting when there is slightly more light.
Your observations are correct MB1. I used the curves function in the second shot, as I thought the first one looked a little dark. I was trying to say that in my post, however my english skills aren't up to scratch.
Thanks for the advice LeeIs. I'll try and do a re-shoot when I get the chance. It mightn't happen for quite a while, but I'll get there one day
