    B&W, Color or Crazy Early.

There is a spot on the Tidal Basin where with a wide lens you can shoot the Washington Monument, the US Capitol Dome and the Jefferson Memorial.

    Fair conditions this morning.

So which do you prefer; B&W, Color or Stupid Early?

Can be seen in a low spot between the other buildings.

i like color and stupid early... would depend on application as to which id choose. maybe stupid early, just due to no wall in the foreground.

    MB-
Black & white does it no justice, and "Crazy Early" is self defined and too dark without a panoramic style crop (which I think would look cool with a low horizon) but Color is so pretty, do Color. I would lose the sidewalk though, it's a distraction that tethers me to the spot when I'd rather fly off into the sunrise. Overall, as good a skyline shot as it gets from that side of the river and certainly worth the wake up call for the pretty colors.

Re: B&W, Color or Crazy Early.

The b/w isn't working for me here.
I like both of the other two.
I would crop the bottom of the second to just above the dark area on right.
Seems strange to suggest cropping to you, sir! ;-)

You are dedicated getting up that early in the morning. I wish I were that motivated. The B&W doesn't do the scene justice, definitely like the color, I like the crazy early but wish for just a little later.

Ya, I'll be cropping the heck out of whichever one we settle on.

Re: B&W, Color or Crazy Early.

Any chance of lightening the sky on the crazy early shot? Or maybe combine with the color shot? Both have their strengths, but the buildings are too dark on the color one (but the sky is great) and the sky is too dark on the crazy early (but the buildings are great). I know you don't like PP, but it might do wonders here.

Re: B&W, Color or Crazy Early.

the b&w version is good I think, but the color version is better. I agree with cindy in losing the step in the fg.. The crazy early shot looks mad dark. . . and the colors are not appealing in it as well. I think it's ok, but no where near as strong an image as the "color" shot.
Good perspective and I;m sure this will look good printed out large and hanging on the wall.

Re: B&W, Color or Crazy Early.

I like num 1...crop the wall, and maybe give it a little levels decrease to give the sky more definition. Number two is good to go without the wall.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!

Re: B&W, Color or Crazy Early.

I think I'm going to have to go with Stupid Early on this one. I like the B&W and Color but, I wish you could see the buildings better. Maybe worth a couple minutes in PS bringing some detail back?

I have to say the B&W is not better than the color. I real like the two color photos.
