    B&W @ Night

I have recently burned through a roll of BW400CN, and I love the results I got from it.

This is one of my favorite shots from the roll. They say you should be self critical, but not too sure where to start on this. Perhaps there is a fraction too much dead space at the top?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I've also posted the rest of the photo's in the film section if you'd like to have a look.

I like this picture because I kind of look at it as a contrast between man and nature. All those electric poles and lights and someone still had the heart to think about this little tree that was falling over. I do like the black and white although I would really like to see this picture in color. The night sky is good because all the lights around, the emptiness up top draws you to the subject. Good pic.

the shot is nice i think the tree in the middle is a bit over powering in the overall image i would try a different angle with the tree to the bottom right foreground.

Too busy/jumbled for me. Just different things here and there without connecition.
The lights are too bright and there's no real blacks except in the sky.

I like some of the technical aspects, like the sharpness of the foreground and the starburst effect on the lights.

But what I think is wrong is it's lack of creativity or cohesion. I do see Naznomore's angle on the man-nature thing, and I agree that there's enough elements here that one could make that argument, but I guess I'm just not feeling it. It sort of lacks a theme and doesn't answer why the picture was taken. I do like the low angle you shot it at to get all the elements in there. The dead space at the top doesn't bother me.

I agree with the above. If there's not really any message you want to deliver with your photo, a story to tell, and event to report, you could try make the photo a visually pleasing one, think composition, visual impact, look for a pattern in a mess, etc. I'm sure you're exciting from shooting films, but you have to realize that film itself does not make a photo better.

I was more looking for fact there is a tree in the foreground, with the power station in the background, like a juxtaposition I guess

I understand photo's are used to convey a message, but I never had one in mind with this shot. Just looking for the right exposure with a simple "theme" I guess.

    Thanks for your comments
