    B of P

Ooooh! So that's why they call it a Bird of Paradise. Now I get it!

ok, after the coal chute comment and this one, I wonder about you.

Great colors and nice comp. Personally a lil more DOF would be nice, but I don't know your intent, and that may just be me.

    Re: B of P

    NOW who's funny?!?!
The intent of this was an early February hunt for PHAT colors. And as a side dish looking for animal shapes in the centers of flowers. Like the Jaguar heads in the orchids or the "bird" in the bird of paradise. The stamen's distinctive point was completely happy coincidence. I am usually bored to tears by flower pictures so when I take them I am searching for something very un-flowery about the flower. Does that make sense? Perhaps you're right to wonder about me. . . perhaps more people should, perhaps they already do!!! Anyway the Blue Bird looked just like a jet taking off and I thought 'A-ha! Now it all makes sense!'

Then perhaps I am the one with the gutter brain

It certainly is more interesting than most flower photos, and knowing your intent, I have nothing to say but good job!

I'll second it: It's you Payn!

That's a great capture of a difficult subject. I've taken dozens of photos of B of P and have yet to have anything I'd even present for critique let alone actually think of a keeper just on my own

The colors are wonderful. I wish the background had worked with you to allow for the blue to stand out a bit more. But it's a wonderful image.

I'm leaving my husband for my D3X! I'm in love!!!

Please, feel free to edit the images I submit for critique. I'm a visual kind of gal!
