    The Awful Truth...

This is an excerpt from a project of mine, which I have tentatively titled:
"The Awful Truth About Sunflowers: The incongruity of the juxtaposition of Helianthus annuus and its natural habitat."

I hope I have linked to these pictures appropriately, and I apologize for the number in this series, but I needed enough to give the "feel" of the series. Think I am wasting my time?

P.S. Well... it didn't seem to work the way I wanted... sorry. Let's try this...

    Re: The Awful Truth...

RS - Personally loving sunflower seeds , the title was certainly enuf to spark my interest. Not sure what is awful about the photos though (?!) Some of them are good. I think the ones that are most successful are the ones where you are close. If you can crop a few of them to focus on the bugs (esp the butterflys) I think you will have an even more successful shot.

One thing I've noticed about flowers is that they're a lot of photographing boats: you can get a good shot, but it's hard to get a great shot. Good luck. I've personally used a lot of film on both and have only gotten a few shots that I consider very good.

    Re: The Awful Truth...

I, too, like sunflowers--and seeds! The title was meant to be somewhat humorous. My idea for this project is to show these lovely sunflowers beautifying some of the most unlovely, or at least unkempt, surroundings. The "awful truth" is that these flowers are just weeds, as seen by their "natural habitat", but that is not meant to be an insult to them. Also, the complex wording of the title is meant to be incongruous with the simple beauty of the flowers.
