    Attempted Murder

Yes, you heard me right, Attempted murder. This is something that I don't hear everyday while I have my police scanner on, after talking to my wife about what is going on she sent me out the door to try and snag some photos since we figured the local paper (which had a very very small budget) didn't even have anyone there. So, when I showed up the ambulance that is in the first shot was leaving so I was very very limited, along with being limited in my still skill set for spot news.

Here is the story as I understand it an estranged boyfriend broke into the apartment with a knife stabbed the girlfriend and her roommate, a neighbor heard the ruckus and went to investigate and was also stabbed. When the police arrived the suspect threw a waffle iron at them and started to fight the police, he was then sprayed with mace and is now staying at the county jail without bond.

I think this is the best shot that I was able to get, the ambulance was pulling away.

This shot one of the Frankfort City Police Officers rushes to follow the ambulance to the hospital.

Emergency lights with the neighbors trying to figure out what happened.

Interesting story but none of your pictures really say anything about the event. I am no expert but try looking through some news report archives and try to see how they use the photos to tell the story. What you really want is the guy being led away in handcuffs or the stretchers being carried out amid general confusion, I think its these sort of that your going to be able to sell to the news papers. Good luck.

    Re: Attempted Murder

Martin, thanks for your comment. Those are the shots I wanted but as I wrote I showed up late and I got what I could since there was well nothing going on when I got there, the other problem that you run into where I live is extremely conservative news papers that won't show people on stretchers, no blood, gore, or guts. So I would have been limited to what I could show to begin with and the guy who they arrested for all of this was already at the jail by the time I showed up (the jail is 2 blocks away from the scene). With the limited amount of action that was happening, I think I did about as close to as good as I could with being as rusty as I am.

Good story, though martin is right in that the photos don't really describe what happened here (not that I expected you to be there right as it happened - that would be a big time coincidence, and I bet the cops would think so too ). Sad news though. OUch! Ive never been stabbed or seriously cut.. gotta hurt.
